A pair of mid-18th century Homann (Heirs) terrestrial and celestial table globes

Price range: £30,000 - £40,000 The terrestrial globe shows parts of North-West America and South-West Australia (Nova Hollandia) unrecorded, while California is drawn as an island. Each globe is mounted in an engraved brass meridian ring with engraved brass polar hour ring to the terrestrial globe, and with printed paper horizon rings. The spheres are supported on their original oak stands, with four turned supports terminating in bun feet.
